Prescribed antibiotic drugs have their place in medicine. However, often they do harm by killing healthy bacteria along with the bad pathogens. There are many foods commonly found in the kitchen that have natural antibiotic properties. These include garlic, onions, grapefruit seed extract, horseradish, Manuka honey, cinnamon, apple-cider vinegar, ginger, and eucalyptus. Vitamin C, which is found in many common foods, is known to strengthen the immune system. The eucalyptus plant has antiseptic properties.
- Many of us would instinctually go to the doctor’s office for an antibiotic when faced with an infection but it has been observed that these drugs do much harm.
- Garlic is great for many things including staving off flu, cold and toothaches. It has also even been used for the more severe AIDS infection.
- Onions, a close relative to garlic, can help prevent infections like cold and inflammations. You need to eat them raw to get the health benefit.
“While antibiotics do have their place in medicine, why not think about reaching for a natural solution when you can?”
